The book of the very important Greek which was a distinguish figure of Japanese literature Lafcadios Hearn, is published again in Greece after the new interest with the launch of its new Museum in Lefkada
Lafcadios Hearn (Koizumi Yakumo, 1850-1904) was the son of the Irish Charles Hearn and of the Greek woman Rosa Kasimati.

In this year, the 110th anniversary of Hearn’s death, an international symposium and commemorative event will be held in July in Lefkada, Greece, the place of his birth. This event will attempt an interpretation of Hearn’s “Open Mind” and explore ways to connect Hearn’s legacy with the future. In the letter written by Maxwell Stillwell to Takis Efstathiou below - the sentence - "the portrait of Rosa Cassimati was always a missing piece to the visual of Lafcadio's story, and now it feels more complete" - was bound to pique the interest of every Hearn aficionado.

A photograph or portrait of Rosa Cassimati is the holy grail of Hearn studies.

In this case, the portrait referred to was drawn by Mr. Mitsumasa Anno [安野 光雅 ], and is based upon an oral description ...
