Paul Dracakis' achievement from a Kytherian perspective:

Paul was born in Drymonas Heights, Kythera – “up to vouna”. He recalls his humble beginnings. “Evouska provota ke katsikes”. “The greatest honour for me is to be Kytherian. Everything else comes after.”

I didn’t have the advantage of going to English schools, but I came to Australia to work. I am humbled to join that small group of people, born on Kythera, to receive National honours. My award also honours all Greek-Australians, and the contribution we have made to Australia.

I was proud of the 5 years I served on Manly Council. And I am really grateful to the community in the Mosman and Manly-Waringah area’s. Without them I would have nothing.
