My Aged Father.

submitted by Kytherian Newsletter Sydney
12.10.2006

My aged father
Is keeping himself alive
By awaiting my return
From twenty years abroad.
After tenderly embracing me,
He will then want to show me
My mother's and brother's graves.
I shall have to force myself
To go with him,
For I do not wish to see his prooof
That I have returned too late.

Peter Mavromatis

[Peter's younger brother, my father Con was killed in a car accident outside Mudgee in 1959, aged 35 years. Only seven weeks before, he had saved a young boy from drowning....Each family has its own heroes.

Aίωνία αύτών ή μνήμη.
