June Phillips - Australia
I am looking for any information on Anthony Michael Comino late of Sydney. who died recently in Yass NSW. I am putting together a surprise memorial book of his life for his daughter as a surprise as she mourns her father. Anthony was known as Tony and lived in or near Croyden in Sydney . He was in his 80's when he passed. Any information about his life would be gratefully appreciated . I know he married an Australian woman Jean Wilson and they lived in Yass nsw for a while Tony moved around and ended up in sydney after his divoice . He ran cafes at some stage . He was born in Sydney and his father died very early in his life. His mother returned to Greese with him however he came back and lived in Australia some time later. Any suggestions or help would be appreciated . please email

Have been looking at interest the articles about Peter's Cafe. My father Jim (Demetrios) Loulias owned the cafe from about 1959 to 1962 when he passed away. He is buried in the Bingara Cemetery. Would have loved to have able to be there for the official opening but it's not possible. Any photographs you could send to do with the opening would be good.

I love Greek folk dance and attended regularly the Friday night dance at the old Aitos Taverna in Berkeley. I was saddened by the fact that it no longer exists and by the loss of Ted Sofios, a great dancer. Having recently returned to the Bay Area I was wondering where people dance any more around here?

Thank you for this fabulous site. My paternal grandfather is from Fratsia. We had the pleasure of visiting the island several years ago and it was heaven on earth. Gorgeous! I am trying to trace the Marentis family roots in the homeland. If anyone has any info on the Marentis family and relations kindly message me with what you know as I am attempting a genealogical study of the Marentis family. Thank you :)
