Three small classes of shells are grouped together here. They are the Scaphopods, or Tusk Shells; the Amphineura, or Chitons; and the tentacled Cephalopods.
The Cephalopods are the best known group, as they often end up on the table, fried or grilled. These include the squids, octopus, cuttlefish and nautilus. |
