Hermes slipped out
to the gods' narrow streets
without taking a breath

Hermes left
Marathona – Athens
-chasing a runner

herald's wand Hermes
it is your good news I want
-triumphant herald's wand

Oh…enchanted
Hermes what are you to
the Moon

Moon? Sun?
was the shield
in the hands of Miltiadis?

within the nights
the destined spoke –
Hermes with glory

Miltiadis
surprising even
our thoughts

refreshing and the runner
arrived and was chattering
- a win for Hermes

Runners
in the blue of memory
from then until now
- wreath of olive branch

wings of warriors-
brave dowry of victory
“we have won”

memories in the “tomb”
and tender grass
-no voice at all

Hermes' symbols
the “herald's wand”
the winged sandals
“speech” in the universe

Ερμής ξεπόρτισε
στων θεών τα σοκάκια

-δρομέα κυνηγά

κήρυκα Ερμή
τα καλά σου νέα θέλω
- κηρύκειο θριάμβου

ω... μαγεμένος!

με τη Σελήνη

Φεγγάρι; Ήλιος;
στα χέρια του Μιλτιάδη
ήταν η ασπίδα;

μέσα στις νύχτες
η ειμαρμένη μίλησε-

αιφνιδιάζοντας ως
