The Isle of Thought

Athens, Wednesday, 1956, Reuters.

A small deserted island, only 24 miles from the Isle of Kythira, where so far that only visitors have been goats and sheep, is to become soon a place of international intellectual meetings.

Beautiful Kythera, motherland of Venus and love, and adjacent islet, are situated on the south-east corner of the Peloponnese, where the Ionian and the Cretan seas meet.

The Union of Greek Intellectuals is to set up an intellectuals model community on the islet.
