George Samios, Western Australia.

George Samios, the manager of the Australian wrestling team at the Olympic Games in Mexico in 1968. George was born in Kythera, Greece in 1916 and migrated to Western Australia when he was only 14. After settling in Australia, he developed an interest in wrestling and went on to win a number of state championships in the 1930s.

When World War II broke out, George Samios enlisted in the Army and in 1942 served for a time with the Western Command Physical and Recreation Training School ...

Greek Dinner for Volvo Club of Australia

The Volvo Clubs of Australia met at Inverell Easter 2006 and enjoyed a Greek mezzes dinner provided by Deanna McCarthy(nee Psaros). The menu included stifado, youvralakia, greek salad and was complimented with baklava and galaktobouriko.

Kytherian 4WD & Recreation Club - Sydney Australia

Some 8 years ago a few adventurous Australian born Kytherian expanded the boundaries of the Kytherian Brotherhood of Australia and formed a family based club. The club has been extremely successfull and has organised some amazing recreational activities including trips to Central Australia and Fraser Island.
