Mylopotamos

Hi! I wanted to travel to Kythera in either December or July. Friends and my auntie said not to visit in December! (I thought about going in December because it will be cheaper!)Any suggestions??
Also, I want to stay in the village of Mylopotamos because that is where my grandfather is buried-does anyone know of cheap/good accommodation in this village or near it?
