At the end of 2006, the Kytherian Cultural Association received an extremely generous donation of US $ 3,840 in support of ongoing cultural activities from the Kytherian Society of Northern California and the West. A cheque for this amount was sent by the treasurer, Mrs Theodora Chlentzos Zes, in memory of the Society’s late President, Anastasia Condas. Mrs Condas, who was born a Megalokonomos of Potamos, had been a frequent visitor to Kythera and was a regular benefactor of various Kytherian charities, including above all the Gyrokomeion (Retirement Home). She will be remembered fondly by many of her compatriots.

We are grateful to the Kytherian Society of California, to Mrs Theodora Chlentzos Zes and to Captain George Leftheris of Leivadi, the Society’s Kytherian advisor. Part of the sum has already been invested in an up-to-date large-format colour printer, which is being used to produce prints, advertising material and posters for both ourselves and other cultural organisations on the island.
