Pictures of the closed Old Hora Museum. Is a disgrace that our Museum remain closed for so long. Bad News: earthquake damage. To fix we need over €300 000. Good News: European Union can finance all of it (except extra costs like building permission, earthquake report, energy certificate etc. - council must pay these). So money not the big problem. Bad News: Museum in wrong urban zone to get European money. Good News: Council can change this. Bad News: Council move slowly. Many complications and headaches. Good News: Many great things have been found on Kythera to fill Old Hora Museum. Bad News: most are now in Athens with Archeological Department. They have too little staff and move very slowly. Culture ministry - in charge of all museums and they give permissions - also understaffed. All other departments also understaffed. Kythera council too. More complications and Headaches. Good News: Great Australian people like Anna Cominos and Yanni Fardouli really try hard to help. Bad News: maybe head of Archaeology on Kythera retire soon. If so perhaps they cannot pay to replace him. Maybe also then Old Hora Museum cannot stay open, even if fixed. Lots of chaos then. We need lots of LUCK! Doorway to Old Kythera Museum.May need more than paint. Windows blocked with some old newspaper But you can still see a bit inside. Many things on the Floor. When Old Museum open was like this too - no money then for real display. Just numbers on the statues and coins. Museum Sign. Only one letter left.
