Researching the ancestry of my husband, Steven. Father is Peter George Karides, son of immigrants from Mylopotomos, Kythera: George Peter Karides (b. 14 May 1886 in Mylopotomos (?)Kythera-died Milwaukee Wisconsin, USA)and wife Marouli Stratigos (b. ?, believed to be in Mylopotomos; married 29 Jan 1922 in Youngstown, Ohio, USA/ died 1942 Muskego, Wisconsin). George P. Karides came to USA in 1903, arriving at New York. Eventually settled in Milwaukee, where he owned Karides Photography Studio on 3rd Street. George had brothers William (Vassilos), called "Bill" and James (Demetrios), called "Jimmy". I don't know of other siblings. The family still owns land in Kythera, inherited from George P.
