John travelled to Melbourne in 1923 as a 10 year old accompained by ? Cassimatis ( so the family were told) He was in Castlereagh St Sydney in 1939 and informed authorities that he was moving to Tasmania with the new address as "Kassimatis Elizabeth St, Hobart". He was married in 1946 and the newspaper report of his wedding said he was the son of My and Mrs J Calligros of Kythera Isalnd Greece. The family believe his parents were George and Maria/Mary. His best man was C. Casimaty. His daughter Maria visited Kythira and met John's brother who owned an Olive Oil Factory( it was really a shed) but she doesnt remember his name. Family members she can recall are Calliope-Katherine, Manuel, Evridiki and possibly Nicholas. Maria has done a DNA test and matches many Kytherian families . I hope someone can help as I would love to find any family of John and especially his parents names.
