Can anyone on Kythera help me to obtain a copy of my father's birth certificate? I need this proof that my father was born in Greece in order to obtain Greek citizenship.The details of my father's birth are as follows: He was born 7 Sept. 1892, Kithera. His name was Nicholaos Panayoitis Mavromatis. He lived in Perlegianika. His father's name was Panayoitis Mavromatis and his mother's name and maiden surname was Areti Comino.A record of his birth may be with the civil or church authorities in Hora but perhaps more likely to be in Potamos as it is only 5kms or so from where he lived.I'm presuming children would have been born at home in those days.
