Tenterfield Star, Sept 30, 1954 Tenterfield Fire Brigade were called to the Paragon Cafe on Tuesday night, when the chimney in the kitchen caught alight. The Brigade recieved the call about 6:15 p.m., and quickly had the fire under control. The proprietor of the cafe, Mr Nick Mentis said that the fire was not serious, but he callled the brigade because surrounding articles were likely to catcj alight. This is the third fire at the cafe in the last 12 months. About 12 months ago the chimney caught alight, and last year a grass fire behind the cafe destryed belongings of employees.
