George Kalligeros, proprietor of the Kapsali Restaurant after the audience has sung "Happy Birthday" to him.

"Hip, hip...Hooray...Hip, hip....Hooray...Hip, hip...Hooray!""

George Kalligeros, proprietor of Kapsali Restaurant, and a lynch pin for Kytheraismos in Brisbane and Queensland, performed at a level above and beyond the call of duty. He relocated his staff to the Cyprus Club (even wife Paula, who was going to relax and enjoy a Kytherian-Queenland event of great magnitude, was seconded to the kitchen, and spent the entire day there). For lack of space in the Club, George Kalligeros, also had to serve the food, rather than maintain the original "buffet" format. The quality of the food was also raised considerably, to "...a banquet fit for a Governor". The event could not have been staged without George's generous, intelligent, inspired, and indefatigable efforts. George's birthday was celebrated on the day, and the crowd broke into a spirited rendition of "Happy Birthday".

Chief organiser, George C Poulos, was heard to say on the day, "...without George Kalligeros backing me up all the way...I wouldn't have proceeded to organise the event. George was the key..".

George Kalligeros was one of the key driving forces behind the greatest of Kytherian-Brisbane events, which was held on Sunday the 15th April, 2007, from 11:30 - 5:00pm.

The venue was the Cyprus Club, also known as the
West End Club,
2 Vulture Street,
West End 4101

The event was held for 3 reasons:
1. to mark the official Queensland launch of www.kythera-family.net
2. to mark the official Queensland launch of Katsehamos and the Great Idea
3. to forge a new and inviolable union between the Kytherian Association of Queensland Inc, and the Kytherian Association of Australia, (ostensibly the Kytherian Association of NSW).

The occasion became known as the Brisbane panayiri and mega-event.

Ultimately, demand for seats was so high, that the event had to be moved from Kapsali Restaurant to the Cyprus Club.

Attendance was c. 500
