Projection room of the Maroochydore Drive-in Theatre, Maud Street, Maroochydore, 1971. Pictured include proprietors Jim and Con Comino. Jim had previously operated the STAR Picture Theatre in Beach Road, Maroochydore. The theatre was built by the Comino family and officially opened in December 1971, by E.O. De Vere, then Chairman of the Maroochy Shire Council. The first drive-in theatre in the area, it operated six days a week and held three hundred and fifty cars.
