Stamatoula Mavromatis Chlentzos Celebrates her 106th Birthday

Stamatoula Mavromatis Chlentzos celebrated her 106th birthday with friends and family in Pleasanton, CA.- November 1 , 2012
Stamatoula was born in Christoforianika, Kythera on November 1, 1906 to parents Antonis Mavromatis (1879-1968) and Giannoula Koulentianos Mavromatis (1878-1969)
In 1931 Stamatoula married Angelo Panagiotis Chlentzos ((1899-1982). A few months later they immigrated to the California, USA where she has lived ever since.

''lest we forget''

a touching part of the service today at agia paraskevi was the remembrace for all the fallen soilders in all wars . this very moving ceremony moved a lot of people, we sang the greek anthem , then the aussie anthem , then we sang the greek anthem again!! saw a few people with tears in their eyes and i was one of them !!! well done to all who planned the bishop and mayor visit to australia , it was a great idea, im sure all concerned gained a lot to bring our two great islands even closer together ...

AND THE WINNER IS !!

one of the most important jobs his eminence had to perform at his visit at agia paraskevi brisbane was to draw the raffle tickets at the lunch that was orginised for the bishop , the mayor and father petros after a lovely church service for agios nickarios and a small cermenory for remembrace day...
