Sandy McNaughton is one of the great Philokytherians and Philohellene's.
Her endeavours in helping refurbish and establish the Roxy Cinema, Roxy Cafe and Roxy Museum at Bingara, in northwestern New South Wales, has been extraordinary.
The establishment of these Hellenic "sacred sites" in Bingara will have deep and long-lsating effects, not only in Australia, but throughout the Hellenic world.

The Roxy is a 1936 art deco cinema complex of unique heritage value that has been restored for community use as a multipurpose performing arts venue and cinema. The role of Manager comprises the overall commercial management of The Roxy as cinema, performing arts venue, function and conference centre and café.
The Manager co-ordinates a range of volunteers, community groups and organisations to successfully manage the venue and ensure that is utilised to its maximum potential throughout the year. The Manager’s role is to ensure the self-sustainability of The Roxy through the presentation of a range of community and commercial events.
ABBOTSFORD CONVENT FOUNDATION (ACF)

The Abbotsford Convent precinct is a unique site located on the Yarra River in Abbotsford, Melbourne. Comprising approximately six hectares of historic parkland and ten major buildings, the site will become an arts, education and cultural tourism precinct. The $12 million project will be staged over several years to create a self-sustaining community producing on-going learning, training, employment, recreation and well-being opportunities.
Role: Reporting directly to the General Manager and the Board, the Assistant Manager’s responsibilities include:
• Co-ordinate, facilitate and resource the work of the ACF to identify and develop a sustainable proposal for the future use of the site as an arts, education and cultural tourism precinct
• Provide a central point of contact for all media, prospective tenants and general public regarding activities and functions of the ACF
• Promote the profile and public image of the project by co-ordinating all major ACF meetings, workshops, forums, community consultations and site ‘open days’
• Manage an efficient and effective administrative office
• Assist ACF and sub-committees to identify funding sources from private and public sector
• Liaise with a range of external agencies including local, state and federal government departments, community groups, volunteers, prospective tenants, business proprietors, consultants and key stakeholders
• Manage administrative budget and ensure regular reporting and presentation of budget to the Board and relevant parties

In 2003 internationally acclaimed musicians Caroline Almonte, piano and Miki Tsunoda, violin, presented their first independent concert series in Melbourne and Sydney. The series comprised three concerts in Melbourne and three in Sydney in June, August and November.
Role: To produce the series, including sourcing and obtaining sponsorship. To promote and market the series to encourage ticket sales.
Outcomes: Successfully managed the series to ensure a profit in the first year of operation. The concerts were well attended with the final concert in the series selling out. Generated over fifteen articles in leading newspapers and eleven radio interviews. Copies of press clippings are available on request.
AUSTRALIAN BUSINESS ART FOUNDATION (ABAF) AWARDS

Increasing private sector support for the arts is the Australian Business Arts Foundation’s business. It aims to bring benefits to arts organisations, business and the Australian community by encouraging business to invest strategically in partnerships with the cultural sector.
The AbaF Business Arts Partnership Awards recognise standards of excellence in strategic business arts partnerships. Performing artists 2001 Awards included Australia Ballet, Australia Chamber Orchestra, Circus Oz, Opera Australia, John Bell – Bell Shakespeare Company, Ian de Gruchy, Lindy Hume – Artistic Director. 2002 Awards included Erth, National Boys Choir, Deborah Cheetham, Slava Grigoryan, National Institute of Circus Arts and Windmill Performing Arts.

The Tinklai International Short film festival was established in 1999 when Peter Greenaway participated as the guest of honour. The festival takes place in Vilnius, Klaipeda and Ventas Ragas where the main event, an outdoor screening in the nets of an ornithological station, attended by approximately 2000 people takes place. The festival presents a panorama of short films and documentaries, focusing on contemporary films by young filmmakers from eastern and northern Europe and the Balkans.
• draft funding proposal to successfully secure festival financing from the Soros Foundation and ARS Baltica – Nordic Cultural Fund
• co-ordinate Italian film programme, including travel arrangements for guests and films
• interpret and translate at screenings in both English and Italian
• produce written copy for promotional material in English
• invite and host guest of honour, Sergio Citti, Italian director and principal collaborator of Pier Paolo Pasolini, including world premiere screening of his film “Vipera”
• organise opening night official launch including invitations, ticket sales and sponsorship, attended by 450 guests
• daily organisation of festival, attended by over 10,000 people over 17 days in 4 venues, including an outdoor screening in the nets of an ornithological station
• liaise with 40 international guests from 14 participating countries

The Big Sing, presented by Melbourne’s Arts Community featured over 500 singers and musicians drawn from Melbourne’s leading orchestras and choirs. The concert brought together the arts community in Melbourne to give voice to a non-shrill, non-party political appeal for change with regard to policies and treatment of refugees and asylum seekers. Guest speakers included Rev. Tim Costello, Julian Burnside QC, Max Gillies. Conducted by Richard Gill AM.
