Peter McCarthy's speech, delivered during the visit of 47 AHEPAN's to the Roxy Complex, Bingara

The visit occurred on the 23rd February, 2013. Peter is a valued member of the Roxy Museum Committee, Bingara, and a long term Roxyphile.

Peter McCarthy (Makarthis) and Peter Giannis

both former Inverell cafe proprietors, help out during the frentic rush on milkshakes and spiders.

This occurred after the Peter and Co cafe, the Roxy Cafe, was officially opened on the evening of the 9th April, 2011.

Peter Makarthis (on the left) owned Oslo's on Otho, Inverell.

Peter Gianneas (on the right) owned the Black and Green Bar, and then Pete's Place, Inverell.

Peter McCarthy (Makarthis) during a rare quite moment

when the milkshake and "spider" serving occurred - after the Peters and Co cafe was officially opened.

Peter has had long experience "behind the counter" having recently sold his sandwich and coffee bar - Oslo's on Otho in Inverell.

He is a valued member of the Roxy Museum Committee.

His presentation on the Peters and Co logo that "wrapped up" proceedings for the 75th Anniversary weekend was superb.

As is his input on the Roxy Museum Committee.

Living in nearby Delungara, makes his contribution even more inavaluable.

The final major event of the weekend was a presentation by Peter McCarthy (Makarthis)

about the name used on so many of the Greek Cafes throughout the 20th century - Peters and Co. Peter talk was very enlightening, and was entitled the Peters Enigma.
