The church of Saint Varvara. "This 13th century church is a fine example of Byzantine architecture with beuatiful proportions. It is located at the now abandoned Byzantine city of Paliohora. Unfortunately, it has been neglected and all the interior decorations destroyed. With a very strong influence of Monemvasian architecture, this church deserves to be preserved as it is unique both in its architecture and history." From, Peter D Vanges, Kythera.
