My name is Stephen Mormoris (Stelios Mormoris) and I live in Paris, originally from New York. I am looking for information on the my ancestors, particularly Giorgos Mormoris,my great grandfather, who was a commander who defended Kythera from the Turks with the British. Any information would be greatly appreciated. Also, I am planning a trip to Kythera for the first time this spring (May 2004) and would welcome meeting people who knew my family. Xronia Polla! If you look in "Photographic Archive" section under "Kythera Cultural association" on this site, you will find a photograph of Father Mormoris, a well-known and much-loved parish priest of the fifties.

Hello Stephen When I was in Kythera last year (2003) there was a Mr. Mormoris in Kapsali very healthy looking over 80 years old who swims daily in summer long distances. He is also related to the late Father Mormoris mentioned above.
