Another pair of students examining old Kytherian Newspapers, dating from the 1860's, that are kept in the files of the Kytherian Association of Athens.

They are students of Professor Kate Aroni Tsihli, a member of the board of the Trifylleion Foundation. Ms Tsihli is Professor of History at the Panteion University in Athens.

The newspapers are housed on the same floor of the Trifylleion Foundation, as General Secretary George Argyropoulos.

They are writing down relevant information from the old newspapers.

The scholar and translator Lefcadio Hearn passed away on 24/9/1904.

From the cover of the book Lafcadio Hearn, Essays from Japan, edited and translated (into Greek) by Sotiri Halkea, 1997.

Born on the Greek island of Lefkas (Lefkada) of a Greek mother and an Irish father, he spent the last 14 years of his life in Japan writing about the country and its people. His work is a bridge of understanding between Japan and the West.

Mary Plessa. Ph.D student at Athens University, under the guidance of Professor George Leontsinis.

Denis, Kyrani (Anna) and Con Anastasopoulos (Poulos) in Cronulla in 1956.

Denis arrived in Australia in March 1952, Con in July 1952 and Anna (my mother) in April 1956.

Nicholas Cominos, 84, passed away peacefully at his East Bay home on Friday, March 14, 2008. He was born in 1923, in Kythera, Greece.
Mr. Cominos' family emigrated from the island of Kythera in Greece and settled in the Central Valley of California, where they began a hotel business in the 1930s, which included the famous Cominos Hotel in Salinas.
