The lady on the left is Zaharoula Souris and the lady on the right is Katina Souris. Their mother, Kyrani Zantiotis was the sister of my paternal grandfather Peter. Their father was Panayioti Venardos (nickname Karides). Zahauroula married Kosma Souris from Gerakari and Katina married Panayioti Souris from Petrouni. I don't remember who the little girl is. Does anyone recognise her?

Yianni initially married Anastasia Zantiotis - the sister of my paternal grandfather Peter. They had five children, Bill, Steve, Andrew, Eugenia and Grigoroula. When Anastasia passed away due to childbirth complications, it was suggested to Dimitra, Anastasia's sister, that she marry Yianni to raise the children. So in around 1936, Yianni married Dimitra Zantiotis. They didn't have any children.

'Barba Ilia' was born in Pyrgos Ilia in the Peloponnese. Together with my mother's father Peter and his brother George, they were forced to leave their town as they apparently refused to join the Communist Party. They went to Kythera in the late 1920s aged around 18 years old and settled in Perlegianika where they lived next door to each other. I clearly remember asking Barba Ilia to take a photo of him and he was very excited. After I took his photo, he asked me if it would be okay to ...
